ICRI General Meeting 28 

The second General Meeting under the Australia-Belize Secretariat will be held from the 14th to the 17th of October 2013 at the Radisson Fort Hotel and Marina in Belize City. There will be a cocktail reception at 6.30pm on the first night.

Visa requirements

No visas are required for citizens of Australia, the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom and most European countries for stays under 30 days(a valid passport is required) . For additional travel/visa information, please contact your country’s local Belize Consulate or Embassy.

Belize City is the country’s largest city (the capital being Belmopan). It holds its principal port and it is the country’s financial and industrial hub. It is located at the mouth of the Belize River.

There are roaming agreements with major companies so many people should be able to use their existing mobile phones, with fairly good coverage in populated areas. Pay phones are also numerous although they charge different rates (the blue and yellow pay phones are mainly for tourists and charge very high rates for long distance calls). Internet access will be available at the venue but please be aware that Skype cannot be used in Belize.

  • Weather: Belize has a tropical monsoon climate, with warm and humid conditions. October falls in the middle of wet season so heavy rains are to be expected. Temperatures will range between 22 and 30 degrees Celsius (72 -86 Fahrenheit).
